Get A Cellular Phone Without Your Credit Getting Checked

By Amanda Kirby

Strangely enough, credit history is still an obstacle for some when it comes to getting a new cell phone. Applying with a cell phone provider would entail completing the application form and successfully passing the mandatory credit check. This was the only option offered in the very early days of cell phone usage. Times have changed, and now you have more options when it comes to getting a phone. Pre-paid lines, or pay as you go service, is popular these days, and a very convenient alternative as well where you don't have to pay a monthly bill.

Cell phones are a necessity for most people. Having a cell phone is very important to many people, may it be students hanging out in the cafeteria, to office workers speaking with their boss on the phone, to stranded motorists needing help from Triple A. Since a cell phone is a tool of convenience, the usage of such shouldn't be denied to people whose credit isn't perfect. Because a pre-paid line does not involve any commitments, nor the signing of a contract or receiving a monthly statement, this adds to the interest level.

Adding minutes and airtime is not a problem with pre-paid numbers, as it is easy to find stores that carry phone cards - top up only the amount you can use without having to pay any monthly recurring fees. You can top up extra minutes by accessing the cards via online usage or over the telephone - the effect is usually immediate so you can use your new minutes straight away.

Even children own cell phones these days, largely due to their parents, who wish to give them a means to communicate with them while outside of the house. After all, having a cell phone could allow a child to regularly communicate with their parents. And since kids will be kids, pre-paid is the best way to avoid incurring a large phone bill. A child's cell phone is essentially the same as any other cell phone, as it would allow them to call, text, send MMS or access the Internet at their convenience.

More and more consumers are seeing the benefits of pre-paid accounts, due to the convenience factor and ease in maintaining the account. Commitment and monthly bills are thrown out the window in exchange for convenience. Pre-paid lines continue to gain momentum over the competition due to these advantages and more. The increased competition has led many a post-paid service provider to take action, by lowering their rates mostly, but also by offering promotions and new services for their valued customers.

As a final note, we encourage the safe usage of cell phones while on the road or while operating machinery. Cell phones may be everywhere these days, but they need to be used safely and with discretion.
