Immigration Pros And Cons: What Are The Options?

By Jose Smith

While looking at the immigration pros and cons, you may want to consider a type of investment Visa whereby the whole family can become eligible for green cards. Every year, there are green cards reserved for those immigrants that can qualify through this program. Certain requirements are necessary to be considered for it.

The most important requirements are about finances, because these green cards are offered with the idea that the U. S. Economy will be boosted as a result. In order to be eligible, therefore, the candidate must be investing at least a million dollars. There are particular areas that can be invested in, known as Targeted Employment Ares, which can lower that requirement by one half.

The money that is invested may come from another business that the immigrant owns, a gift, an inheritance or any source providing it can be proved that it's a legal one. You don't have to speak English nor do you need a certain education or even experience in business.

The investment visa can also be applied for by going through what is known as a Regional Center. They are economic units which are involved in the promoting of economic growth. An application through these centers comes with some benefits.

One such benefit is that the investor will not have to employ 10 workers directly. There will just need to be that many jobs resulting directly or indirectly from the investment. It is also possible that the time needed to wait for this type of visa could be less, as there are 3000 green cards set aside for regional center programs and an additional 3000 for Targeted Employment areas. One more advantage is that with this kind of investment, there is no requirement for the investor to manage it on a daily basis.

Of course, not everyone has the type of money available to pursue this type of Visa. However, in weighing the immigration pros and cons, if the money is available, this avenue can provide a faster track than many.
