29 Prime Review: Facebook Releases App Center

By Jennifer Stanowitz

Facebook is one of the most prominent social media sites on the Internet, if not the most prominent. There are currently around 800 million users globally, and the site continues to grow everyday. Facebook allows its users the convenience of interacting with family, friends, athletes, celebrities, and other various businesses. It constantly connects and keeps its users informed.

Recently, Facebook announced the release of its own app store. The official Facebook app store gives its users a one-stop shop for hundreds of applications, such as Instagram and Draw Something, that already run on the social media website. There will be around 600 applications available through the app store. Some will be free, while others will be paid apps.

The app store is currently only available in the United States. It is available for all Apple iOs Google's Android systems, and of course, the web. Facebook will offer personalized suggestions to its users based on the interests they input into their Facebook profile. Facebook wants to offer their users the highest quality apps, so they will be implementing a rating system.

Most of the apps in the App Center are readily available on Facebook. Of course, it is expected that new apps will be launching with the introduction of the app center. Users will have easy access to the app center and will be able to browse for new ones. All of the applications will have a detailed page about them, giving valuable information about it.

Facebook clearly makes this a priority as they continue to grow. The creation of an app center can help Facebook expand their mobile presence. They are ahead of the game when it comes to marketing. More people will be able to log onto their Facebook account and access these apps whenever they would like. More businesses could learn from Facebook's marketing techniques. It is important to always engage and communicate with your audience.
