There are so many different things that are being spread these days in the world of trucking that simply are not true. People usually repeat what they have been told but they don't tend to look things up first. How much could we benefit by changing that one habit?
Myth 1: Its easy to get your Truck License.
The world of trucking is one that is hard to enter because it generates large amounts of revenue. Every single product consumed has some part of transportation fees associated with it. There are reports that long time engine maker Cummins posted its most successful year ever last year. Yeah and its supposed to be a recession. So if a business that manufactures truck engines is earning profit what do you think trucking companies are doing? Well they are just buying brand new trucks which require more engine orders.
There's ton's of money on the table, this is what makes the qualification of a truck license so valuable and challenging. Once you get yours then you will understand. Until you meet or exceed the CDL qualification you can't access this super potential market. You have to earn your way in.
Myth 2: Fuel costs might shut down trucking.
This makes no sense. Think about it. what ever a customer purchases they are also agreeing to pay for the item to be brought to them. This is just a simple fact of reality. It is a fair rule in my view because you have to pay the person to bring to you the item regardless of everything else. This is why you can't remove this step. This is why truck drivers will always get paid to deliver products. Just say no to bots.
Myth 3: Truckers are not intelligent.
All people have different personalities and I am concerned with aggressive truck drivers but the idea that Truckers are stupid or dumb is a misnomer. You will soon know how complex just the first portion of the CDL test really is. You can't fake knowing it either because of the testing process which requires you to prove what you know to a state sanctioned inspector before getting your truck license.
Fact 1: Trucking costs will always be paid by the end user.
This is why transportation really is the only recession proof industry. Materials have to be delivered and the costs to ship the items must be paid. There exists no option in the coming future. Now if you go into a sci-fi age where people get beamed up like on star trek or something then all of this would change.
Fact 2: Truck driving is the backbone of all nations.
Truck Driving isn't called our countries' backbone for no reason. There is no way to get around the impact made by Big-rig trucks. The whole country's imports arrive on cargo ship or airplane and then are delivered by land to their final destination. If you want to be a part of what America really does then you need to be in a semi.
Its not only true in this nation either. It is a simple fact of money that is key to revenue. There is an awesome opportunity for freedom in America where you can get your CDL and earn some real money. There is a substantial reward for taking the risk of driving 80K pounds down the road and through the mountains.
