29Prime: Business Owners Merge GooglePlus Accounts

By Jessica Stevenson

Recently, Google made the announcement that they released a new app that allows you to merge Google accounts. People who have a profile attached to their personal Gmail account and another attached to their Google apps account can finally merge these two accounts. This initiative is known as the Google Takeout.

Essentially, Google wants to make it easier to transfer circles from one Google+ account to another. Now, Google users can just use one account instead of relying on two. You have to request this transfer and you also must wait seven days before it takes place. Once the initial process begins, it cannot be cancelled or reversed. You are stuck with the transfer once it starts.

Both of your Google+ accounts will slow down quite a bit once the transfer begins. You will not be able to share content or update your status to your circles until the transfer is absolutely complete. There is a period of time, 48 hours, for the transfer to take place. Everything will be transferred from your account with the exception of comments, profile information, and posts.

Google believes that the transfer will make it much easier for professionals to connect their profiles and they will not be losing followers. It lets people share content with others in their networking so they do not have to manually go through every circle. There are still some things that need to be fixed within the system. Certain users discovered that they still possess two accounts instead of one.

If you are a business owner and a Google+ user, you may want to consider doing this transfer. Just be sure you give yourself a decent amount of time for the transfer to take place since you will not be able to access your Google+ accounts. This could make it easier to share content with your followers, especially the consumers that follow you. Be sure to keep your social media sites updated!
