Video Games and the Use of Accounts Receivable

By Rob Sutter

When there is a debt left behind on goods and services, it's most likely that collectors will be there with full persistency. When this happens, it's a case of accounts receivable and I'm sure many of you have seen the previous sentence as rather dramatic. It's not farfetched to think that this can be applied to the world of gaming, where one's only limits are set by his or her imagination. I'd like to believe that accounts receivable, at least in the gaming sense, can be applied to the villainous side of it.

If I had to name one of my favorite video game series of all times, "The Legend of Zelda" would outrank every other name. There's a level of fantasy that exists to satiate my geeky desires and I love the idea of being able to face off against mythical creates in swordplay and other forms of combat. I adored the series when I was younger and not much has changed in my adulthood. Despite the series being set in a fictional world, accounts receivable can be applied to this video game series.

Rapid Recovery, amongst other debt companies, is distinctive in that it will take professionalism into high regard while conducting business with clients. I don't think the same could be said if companies hungry for accounts receivable could be applied to the Zelda series. The reason I say this is because with a demented twist, it could be applied to the series' main villain, Ganondorf, who leads a band of thieves in order to conquer the land of Hyrule. He's a man with an army and his services could very well be for sale.

There could be an instance when a shop owner is unjustly burglarized but cannot do much about it since he is unable to secure the right muscle for the job. He would have to turn to Ganondorf since he would be left with little in the way of alternatives. The shop owner would be fully aware that it'd be like selling one's soul to the devil himself but the actual partnership turns out successful at first. Burglars are scared away quite easily. However, Ganondorf would want his payment and when the shop owner is unable to scrape together the funds, terrible things may unfold.

Greedy not only for power but for money as well, there is no question that Ganondorf would have what it takes to lead a collection agency. It would be even more intriguing since video games do not have to conform to any kind of reality, so a treacherous company is possible. Helpless townsfolk would be taken advantage of like mad and without a concrete center of authority, Hyrule would be powerless to do anything about it. Ganondorf may be a king rich in power but riches would be well within his reach.
