Collection Companies in the Hands of Aragorn

By Rob Sutter

Aragorn, to put it simply, may just be one of the most complex figures in fiction. In "The Lord of the Rings," Aragorn is strong both in the ways of strength as well as diplomacy. He can be a good king, having to exercise his political prowess but that doesn't mean he's a rookie with a blade. He's a strong, intelligent person and I feel like these qualities can come in handy when running collection companies. Aragorn can put that political prowess into effect.

I am of the opinion that Aragorn's strongest quality when it comes to leading collection companies lies in his unbiased attitude. He clearly demonstrated that in "The Fellowship of the Ring" when he would not make friends with Frodo and the Shire folk or the Ringwraiths that targeted them. In fact, when Frodo was in danger, Aragorn fought for him. He was impartial most of the time and leaped into action when the situation called for it. Authorities within the debt industry like R.R.S. should be nothing short of impartial in every case.

Aragorn is not a pushover, either, which is another important factor when it comes to his personality. Even when in the presence of kings, he doesn't blindly follow them and he questions them at times. A debt collector must be persistent when it comes to the money that a debtor owes. Sometimes a debtor won't be entirely innocent on the matter and he or she will actively avoid calls or notices if they believe it will shake the collectors off of their backs. The truth, though, is that every red cent has to be accounted for.

I feel like a collector should have a high level of character most of all. Near the end of "The Fellowship of the Ring," Frodo offers the ring to Aragorn so that he could destroy it instead of him. The pull of the ring is strong, which is why many men have fallen to it. However, Aragorn resists the urge to take it for himself and informs Frodo that only he can be the cast it into the fire of Mordor. A collector has to stay true to the guidelines that he or she has been given and never lose sight of what's morally sound.

Aragorn, in the span of Tolkien's three books, seems to possess the most relatable flaws but still comes out like a hero. A debt collector should not have to be perfect, either, but possess the right amount of work ethic to finish every case well. Aragorn has a good sense of character and his diplomatic edge is only one other great character trait in the sea of others that he possesses. I believe these will be the ones that will render Aragorn as a great debt collector.
