Benefits Of Relying On Carbonless Form Printing

By Jeanette Riggs

The world is now laying so much on environmental conservation. People and companies are increasingly leaning towards materials, activities and practices that do not harm the environment. People now put a lot of effort towards the preservation of resources. For this reason systems that do very little or no damage at all to the environment have been developed world over. This can be done by using carbonless form printing.

This object has been embraced by each industry in the world today. The paper publishing companies have not been left behind in this too. In the past, they used sheets coated with coal to produce copies of the original ones and this was done manually. That is unlike the practice done today which uses electricity to produce a copy of the original one rather than handwriting it manually. However, the practice changed since the innovation of papers that never require coal coating aimed at making other copies. An advantage of this paper is that it does not get stained and is friendly to the environment.

This paper consists of sheets of paper that are coated with micro encapsulated dye that is reactive. The back of the first sheet is coated with micro encapsulated dye. The other sheet that is on the lower end is coated on top with surface with clay that quickly reacts with the dye to produce a permanent mark. Any sheets that lie intermediate are coated with clay on top and dye on the bottom.

The copies are made by the pressure that is applied by the writing instrument that causes the micro capsules to break and spill their dye. The copy that is obtained in this way is very accurate and neat because the capsules are very small. Apart from handwriting this paper can also be used in dot matrix printers where the striking heads release dye to react with the clay to produce copies.

With these forms, one is sure to produce many copies at once unlike with previous methods that had to produce one copy at a time. The previous method required an individual to write a document several times while others used sheets coated with carbon. Users get a messy done because their fingers get stained. Therefore, using the new technique is a good idea.

The application of these types of pads is mostly in the writing of documents that require more than one copy. For example in writing purchase orders, transaction notes and demand notes. When a mail was also to be distributed widely, this method came in handy to duplicate it. They come in a myriad of shades depending on the number of leafs per document. The previous methods offered limited choices when it came to shade.

There are fears that the chemicals used in these pads may pose some hazards to the well being of the users. Some people have experienced moderate contact dermatitis when using these pads. It might also have some effects on sight. Respiratory problems can also be caused by excessive inhalation of the chemicals.

These risks can however be eliminated by keeping basic hygiene at the work place. These include good ventilation, temperature controls and humidity controls. One should also minimize hand to mouth contact or hand to eye contact with the dyes and proper cleaning of your hands. This ensures safe carbonless form printing.
