Choosing The Right Bed For You

By Matthew Wood

On the face of it, there wouldn't be too many reasons to choose a wooden bed over a metal bed. A bed is a bed, right? They both hold up a mattress and some sheets -what else is there to it? Well, quite a lot in actuality. There are a number of advantages of choosing a wooden bed over the metal counterpart and this article will aim to highlight the main benefits of having such structure in place.

Longevity Wooden beds are proven to last much longer than metal beds. Generally speaking, they are easier to clean as they don't require a specific type of polish. In addition, metal beds are also open to attracting rust which, in turn, gives the bed a short lifespan.

Mattress The right type of mattress is crucial in creating the perfect bed. There are three main types of mattresses to choose from with each suiting different sleeping patterns. These are air mattresses, foam mattresses and innerspring mattresses. Each type has lower and higher quality versions and it is important to select the one that is right for you.

Typically, if you like to sleep to on your back, then a firmer surface is recommended with an air or innerspring mattress likely to be the most comfortable. For those who sleep on their stomachs or on their sides, a softer mattress could well be necessary with a foam type likely to be preferable.

Bed sheets Cotton bed sheets will give you the extra comfort and satisfaction that will make your night's kip even sweeter. To get the most from your sheets, it is recommended that you use materials that are 100 per cent cotton.

These sheets will give you a soft feeling and help to keep away moisture from your body so you don't end up in a sweaty mess in the morning! Cottons are defined into four categories; extra-long, long, medium and short. Strictly speaking, the longer the cotton, the finer the fabric.
